Privacy Policy

The short version

WorldTimeFinder is the new name for Rendez; this policy covers the app under both names. WorldTimeFinder runs entirely on your device. We operate no servers, and the app contains no analytics and no tracking. If you connect a calendar account, WorldTimeFinder talks directly to that provider from your device, and your calendar data stays on your device. We never see it, and we never share or sell anything to anyone.

Data stored on your device

The cities and timezones you add, your settings, and any cached calendar data are stored locally on your device. Your settings, including the list of connected calendar accounts, sync between your own devices through your private iCloud account using Apple's infrastructure. None of this data is sent to us.

Calendar accounts

Connecting a calendar account (Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook) is optional. When you connect one, WorldTimeFinder communicates directly from your device with the provider's API over an encrypted connection. There is no WorldTimeFinder server in between, so your calendar data is never visible to us.

With your permission, WorldTimeFinder can also read the calendars already on your device (through Apple's calendar framework) to shade busy time on the timeline. That data never leaves your device.

Google user data

This section describes how WorldTimeFinder handles data received from the Google Calendar API, in both raw and derived form.

What WorldTimeFinder accesses

• The list of calendars in your Google account, so you can choose which ones WorldTimeFinder uses.
• Events on the calendars you select: the title, start and end times, whether the event blocks time (busy or free), and the join link of an attached video call, used to draw your events on the timeline and offer a Join call button. WorldTimeFinder requests only these fields; it does not access event descriptions, attendees, locations, or attachments.
• The email address of the connected account, used to label it in the app's settings.

When you schedule a meeting in WorldTimeFinder, the event you compose (its title, time, location, and notes) is sent to Google to create it on the calendar you chose. If you ask for a Google Meet link, Google generates it and attaches it to that event. That information comes from you, not from your Google account.

How it is used

Google user data is used only to provide the features described above: listing your calendars so you can select them, showing your events as busy time on the timeline, labeling the connected account, and creating the events you schedule. WorldTimeFinder does not use Google user data for advertising, and does not use it to develop, improve, or train AI or machine learning models. WorldTimeFinder does not build aggregated or anonymized datasets from your data.

How it is shared

It is not. WorldTimeFinder does not transfer, share, or sell Google user data to anyone. Data moves directly between your device and Google, and is never sent to us or to any third party.

How it is protected

WorldTimeFinder's sign-in tokens are stored in your device's Keychain and are not synced to other devices. All communication with Google uses TLS encryption. Calendar data is cached only on your device.

Retention and deletion

Cached calendar data is kept only while the account is connected. When you sign out of a Google account in WorldTimeFinder, the app revokes its access with Google and deletes the tokens and all cached data for that account from your device. Deleting the app removes everything it stored. You can also revoke WorldTimeFinder's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

Limited Use

WorldTimeFinder's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Microsoft Outlook data

Outlook accounts are handled the same way. WorldTimeFinder accesses your calendar list, your events' titles, times, free/busy status, and the join link of any attached Teams call, along with your account's name and email address. It creates the events you schedule, including a Microsoft Teams link when you request one. Tokens live in your device's Keychain, all communication with Microsoft uses TLS encryption, and nothing is shared with us or anyone else. Signing out deletes the account's tokens and cached data from your device, and you can also revoke WorldTimeFinder's access from your Microsoft account's privacy settings.

Purchases

Optional subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. WorldTimeFinder checks your subscription status on-device through Apple's StoreKit framework. We never see your payment details.

Analytics and tracking

WorldTimeFinder does not include any analytics frameworks, crash reporters, or tracking tools. We have no way to know how you use the app, and we prefer it that way.

Children's privacy

WorldTimeFinder does not collect personal data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page with a new effective date.
